This is my friend Irina and cute little 2-month old Abby all snuggled up in the sling. It is nice to know our baby is going to have so many friends to play with. Irina says Abby is a very good baby and already sleeps through the night.
Today I told everyone at work about the adoption. They had many questions: Why Vietnam? Why not Russia? How much does adoption cost? Where does the money go? Will the baby be an American citizen? Do you have to travel to get the baby? Will the baby be immunized? Do you get to see the baby before you travel? I tried to answer everything as best as I could. Also today my friend Jenni gave me two diaper bags full of formula, diapers, pacifiers, bottles, and other baby stuff. Our first baby gift! Jenni has a beautiful daughter, Autumn, and has offered to donate frozen breast milk to give our little one some extra nutrition. FYI frozen breast milk can be stored up to 6 months in a "deep freezer". I plan to hide it in the -80 at work :-) Shhhh.

Why does it not surprise me that many of your co workers thought you should adopt from Eastern Europe/Russia.
I am glad that you Jenni is giving you the breast milk.
What a great idea about the frozen breast milk!!! It really will be good for the baby to have breast milk.... I always thought that there should be a breast milk donation place for situations like this (adoption or when the mother cannot lactate for some reason).
