Last year on this same Saturday in October, we went to a local library to hear a presentation on adoption. We were supposed to go to the meeting in September, but it conflicted with a Rutgers football game, and we had priorities (tailgating with my cousin verses boring adoption meeting...the choice was obvious). There were about 4 other couples at the meeting plus the local social worker and the director of the Vietnam program. That was a total coincidence, since the presentation was on all the countries they worked with not just Vietnam. We listened attentively to the whole presentation. At the end, we were left with a lot of questions and a lot of tough decisions to make. Should we use this agency or go with another one? If we go with these guys, which country would we choose? After a week of doing some more research online and talking about how this decision will change our life forever, we decided to take the leap and send in our application for Vietnam. Its hard to believe that was one year ago already. I thought we'd at least have photos of our baby by now! The waiting is indeed the worst part, much worse than filling out all the paperwork b/c at least then you were doing something other than waiting.
