Miss Universe in Vietnam

No, that's not a photo of me, its Miss Mexico! On Sunday night (US time) the Miss Universe contest was held in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province. You might remember the orphanage where our dossier was originally sent was in Khanh Hoa province. While I missed the TV broadcast, I caught a few news articles and YouTube videos. According to an article in Nhan Dan, "Miss Universe pageant 2008 has contributed to advertising an image of Vietnam with hidden charms, friendly people, a culture imbued with national identity and a peaceful country on the way of development and integration." An article in Vietnam Net Bridge showed photos of the contestants visiting two orphanages in Vietnam, one for visually impared children and one for disabled children. And this blog shows a visit to SOS orphanage in Hanoi.

I also liked these videos:

-Giant beauty queens visit Vietnamese orphanage(looks like Mai's orphanage, but its not!)
-Scenes of Vietnam with bikini-clad beauty queens(mostly the beauty queens)
-Short advertisement to get tourists to come to Vietnam
-Long advertisement to get people to visit Vietnam
