Our program coordinator has sent out a clarification of her initial Friday night bombshell email. The bilateral agreement between the US and Vietnam is set to expire in September 2008, not March. However, it must be agreed upon and signed by March, 6 months before it is to expire. So worst case scenerio, if the program is to shut down, it will shut down in September, and we will know by March. That should give us and any others with adoptions in progress time to be completed. [a sigh of relief]

That is such great news!!! Wow... they really put you on an emotional roller coaster don't they?!?!
My fingers have been crossed for months now and they continue to be crossed. This sounds like some better news for you and Dan.
BTW, as this comment shows, I finally found your blog. Woo hoo! And I never thanked you for sending along those bottles - thanks! They will be useful down the road.
re: emotional rollercoaster. The problem is, they have 100% of the information and relay about 10% of it to us. So they know when bad stuff is coming down the pike long before we do and they know how its all going to play out while we are in the dark!
Wow, not great news but at least it is better than it was. I couldn't imaging traveling 1/2 round the world, have the babe in arms and then be told no. Our governments don't want to play nice with each other. That would be heartbreaking.
