If you know me, you probably know I have a fatty acid oxidation disorder. If you don't know what that is, don't stay ignorant, look it up! Fasting and other stresses like viral illness can lead to metabolic crisis (AKA metabolic derangement, my word of the week) with symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, confusion, seizures, apnea, coma, and death (if you consider death a symptom). Unfortunately, I am all to familiar with metabolic crisis and so is Dan. He is the one that has to peel me off the bathroom floor to administer emergency glucose and get me to the hospital if I don't recover. I had two crises this past week, then the doctor ordered some fasting blood tests...uuugg. If you count that doctor-induced episode, that's three in one week. It feels like I spent more of the week "deranged" than...what's the opposite of deranged?? So here's a big shout-out to Dan for saving my life more times than I can remember. He keeps a level head in an emergency situation and will certainly make a great dad.

Oh, Barb! I am so sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well! Have the Drs. been helping at all? Let me know if you need any thing!!!
You and Dan have been through a lot these past few years. I know how much you just want this disease to go away. At least this time you were not on a Greek cruise ship with Russian speaking doctors! Hopefully you will be feeling better soon :-)
Three cheers for saving your life (again, again and again!)
Hopefully you are feeling better and the derangement will subside.
