Bad news from Vietnam

I've been putting off sharing the news from this crappy week, but did promise my friends to keep them updated (good news and bad news) on the blog. Due to more Vietnamese-style bureaucracy, our travel has been postponed until October...maybe even late October. The reasons are a tangled web of this office didn't send the paperwork to that office, compounded by one of the offices taking a month off to move to a new building and a new level of approvals that they just decided to put in place. We are really, really disappointed. We totally thought Sept would be the latest and Gianna would be home for Halloween, my favorite holiday of the year. We were going to get matching costumes. I would take her trick-or-treating around the neighborhood early with the young kids, then we would settle down to watch kid-friendly horror movies while handing out candies to the older kids. Boo-hoooo, I am making myself sad now :-( Also funking up this week, I was commuting back and forth to mid-town for a stupid week-long L'Oreal "boot camp" of sorts. And the icing on my pity party cake: this weekend we say good-bye to our good friends Eric, Shira, Donnell, and Nicole as they move to Germany. We will miss them. Sniff, I'm glad we stocked up on tissues.
