Irresistable buns update

If you like cardamom and lime, then you'll love Cardamom Lime Sweet Rolls from Jan 2008 Cooking Lite issue. OK, so there's the irresistible buns part, now for an update. As you may recall from previous posts, when we first sent our dossier to Vietnam in May 2007, our agency estimated we would have a referral for a healthy infant in 2-6 months, and travel 2-6 months after that. But now, we might not get our baby until 2009 :-( With encouragement from our social worker and a family member that has adopted a toddler, we broadened our criteria to consider children up to 2 1/2 years old and those with certain special needs. The response to this has been 95% negative; some people look like they are going to faint. Special needs? Toddler? No!!! You can't!!! You're a young couple and need a precious little infant to snuggle to make a perfect little family. I am not saying we are DEFINITELY getting a toddler with special needs, we could still get a healthy infant, depending on the children that are brought into the orphanage. And special needs doesn't mean severe disability. Premature babies and children with cleft lip/palette are considered special needs. But one of the reasons we considered adoption in the first place is because all of these children, infants, toddlers, and school age kids need a family. And we want to be parents! Hopefully in the end, our well-meaning friends and family will realize this is our choice to make. When you decide to adopt, you can wait 3 years for a healthy infant or "go domestic" (one of my new hated phrases, as if domestic adoption is trouble-free).
