The kind and efficient people over at the HCMC US CIS sent us an acknowledgement that they have received our "Form I-600, Petition to Classify Orphan as an Immediate Relative." Yay! Now all they have to do is process it quickly. This used to be processed while you were over in Vietnam, so they can do it quickly if they so choose. The 60 day time frame now gives them the option to do more digging if they so desire. They have already requested additional info for Mai (which has been completed), so hopefully they are satisfied and will call us next week to apply for our visa!
06/19/08 update: according to our adoption coordinator, this I-600 acknowledgement came in ahead of schedule. Maybe there is a good tail wind in HCMC this time of year!
