Next Step

Adoption is like an insurmountable mountain. Every time you think you've reached the top, there is another peak to climb. We reached the top of the I-600 peak, now we have to wait for the Vietnamese government to assign our travel date. They have been "double checking" our dossiers and we aren't quite sure when enough is enough for them. Hopefully now that we have I-600 approval, things will move fairly quickly. After they assign the travel date, we can apply for our visa, which is supposed to be a relatively quick process. I'm hopeful that we will go to Vietnam in August, but will keep you posted.

Thanks for the update. Fingers and toes crossed that you have a little one to take to the parades on Labor Day!

Oh man, Labor Day? That's positive thinking!! Hopefully you are right. I will be happy if we have her by her 2nd birthday in November.

We are so happy for you! I can't wait to share the news at church. Hang in there, Ginna will be home in no time. Do you guys get to take leave for awhile after you get home? Keep the news coming :)

I'm taking 6 weeks+ vacation time, Dan is off for ~4weeks. If she is having trouble adjusting, one of us will ask for more time.

Dave and I were just talking this weekend about how we spent the past 2 Labor Days with you and Dan, but we thought that we would not see you this year because you would not be in the country... are you saying that you hope to get her by NOVEMBER!? That is crazy!!! How long do they want that poor child away from you?!?!

Hahaha, I was being sarcastic. We'd BETTER have her by November!! If we have not traveled by Labor Day, we'll keep up the tradition with a road trip to DC!
