Vaccination Station

Today I went to the doctor and got a few vaccines for the trip. My plan was to pack on some serious pounds before the trip to make up for any in-country food borne illness attack. But according to the doctor's office weigh-in, it looks like I have been eating too much fresh fruit and veggies and not enough ice cream sundaes. So I'm stepping up my ice cream intake to at least twice a day ;-)

We are all ready to go sans packed suitcase and airline ticket. I think having the final approval and knowing at any time they could say "you're coming to meet your daughter next week" has really put the stress levels through the roof. I have no appetite, my stomach hurts, I'm irritable, and I can't sleep at night. When will this waiting be over?! To take my mind off things, we spent the weekend in Central PA out of cell phone and email range at the Pine Creek River Gorge. My parents used to take me here as a kid and we would tube down the river. Dad would drop us off at a certain low point and then drive the van up along the mountain road to pick us up where the road ended and the river took a sharp bend to the left. Well, it was my goal to see what was on the other side of that bend. Turns out there were some pretty cool water falls, a suspension bridge, and nice views of the valley. Round trip hike was 7.2 miles with ice cream at the end.
