Friday Flight

Dan and I have taken some risks in life in the name of love and had some pretty cool adventures along the way. Well here we go again. Even though we still don't have a ceremony scheduled, we are flying to Hanoi on Friday night to meet our daughter. This is a leap of faith because we don't know how long we'll be over there since they are dragging their feet with this final step. It could be a few weeks or a month. We will stay at a cheaper hotel (~$35-50/night) until we have a date confirmed and the other people in our travel group fly over. In the mean time, we will visit Gianna, volunteer at the orphanage, and see some sights around Vietnam. We have been to Southeast Asia before and are looking forward to the culture shock that makes you appreciate the cushy life we have here in the States. Please keep us in your prayers!

**why do I jinx myself by saying "a few weeks or a month"? Let me change that to "an indeterminent amount of time"

You're on your way - soon! Such a long journey, can't wait for the ending. Have a great flight (flights?) and we'll wait patiently for photos.

Barb,
I'm so excited for you! I'll pray that things will work out for you as you take this leap of faith! Pretty soon she'll be in your arms!

I think you are doing the right thing to go over there, and be able to spend some more time with your daughter. Give Gianna a big hug and a kiss for me.

Life is full of risks, and I think taking a risk in the name of love is about the best assurance you can have. Your heart is in the right place, and things will work out for you - congrats on getting to see your daughter soon! Imagine that first warm hug, and the hassles will all be worth it!
